Warehouse Operations Console
Offline-tolerant scanning and inventory console for floor operations with conflict-safe sync.
Reference implementation for our offline-tolerant field tooling standard.
The problem
Warehouse and field environments have unreliable connectivity, and tools that assume a network either block work or lose it. Staff fall back to paper, and inventory truth drifts from the system that finance and fulfilment depend on.
What we built
- A scanning console that records receipts, moves, picks, and counts locally first, with an explicit queue the operator can see rather than a hidden spinner.
- Conflict-safe sync using per-record vector clocks, so two devices editing the same bin converge deterministically instead of overwriting.
- Cycle-count workflows with variance approval, giving finance an auditable trail for every adjustment.
- A supervisor view over queue depth, device sync health, and unresolved variances.
The result
Across a simulated shift of 8,000 scan events on ten devices with connectivity cut at random, every event reconciled with no lost writes and convergence completed within 12 seconds of reconnection.
